Senator Musto Cuts Ribbon For New West Wyoming Program State Senator Ray Musto presided at a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the new yard waste/composting site in West Wyoming. Senator Musto said composting was beneficial for Pennsylvanians. The funds will be used to increase the amount of organic material the town collects and composts. “Composting is a way of preserving and improving our environment,” the legislator said. Joining Senator Musto were representatives from the state Department of Environmental Protection, Rep. Phyllis Mundy’s office, the Penn State Cooperative Extension as well as borough officials. The opening was conducted May 2 at the composting site, which is behind the West Wyoming Hose Co. 1, in the borough. Total project cost was $169,296. The funds were used to prepare the three-acre, fenced site. In addition, the grant enabled the borough to purchase a truck, a chipper/shredder and a backhoe/skidster.
