miles
Seven years and 2,171 miles after Leo Kucewicz began hiking the Appalachain Trail in 1996, he is atop Katahdin ("Greatest Mountain"), the northern terminus of the trail in central Maine. Leo is an administrative assistant to Senator Ray Musto specializing in local government affairs. He began his trek in 1996 where the trail intersects with the Pennsylvania turnpike over the Lehigh tunnel, and ended on August 31, 2003 in central Maine. He subsequently hiked the trail portions in Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland , Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire,and Maine.
